Annual Christmas Tree Decorating

Yay, it's the most wonderful time of the year! Yes, I'm among the millions who live for the holiday season, begin playing Christmas music in November and only watch Christmas movies until February. I've already made Jd watch Elf, Miracle On 34th Street, Christmas With The Kranks, Snow Day, Christmas Kiss and several others. I purchased two new Christmas records this weekend and successfully convinced Jd to drive me an hour and half outside of the city so we could chop down our own tree this year.

You could say I'm making up for lost time since last year our apartment was so small we couldn't fit a tree - or a couch. We haven't decorated a Christmas tree since we lived in Richmond - you may remember we showcased it here in a timelapse - so this year I wanted to do something special aka chop down my own tree in upstate New York.

We left Brooklyn around 11:00 a.m. and headed to Wilkens Fruit & Fir Farm to chop down our Christmas tree! Wilkens Farm was amazing and if you're buying a Christmas tree you get unlimited free hot cider and their annual Christmas ornament, which is different every year and has the date! Everyone on the farm was super friendly and they'll even cut the tree down for you if you'd like, plus they even tie it to the top of your car so you can basically just show up, point a tree and then they can do all the work if you want. Ive already decided we'll be visiting this farm next fall for apple picking!

If you continue down, you can see more photos from the farm and of the final tree decorations. If you live in New York and still need a tree, take a day trip up to Yorktown Heights and visit Wilkens Fruit and Fir Farm!

Don't forget to pick up some of my favorite holiday accessories for your Christmas tree and holiday decorations needs if you haven't already! You can also head over to the shop section and see more of my favorite things from fashion to home accessories.
